CASHEW NUTS

The cashew tree is a tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple pseudo fruit. The tree can grow as high as 14 m, but the dwarf cultivars, growing up to 6 m, prove more profitable, with earlier maturity and greater yields.

Net carbs: A 1-ounce (28-gram) serving of cashews contains 9 grams of total carbs or 8 grams of net carbs.

Serving size: The standard serving of nuts and seeds is 1/4 of a cup, 40g, 1.3oz or around 16-18 cashewsapproximately the amount that fits in the palm of your hand. Just one handful of these mineral rich nuts packs a healthy punch.

Shelf life: Six months

Store cashews in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to avoid absorption of other food odors. At room temperature, they will not last long, but if you refrigerate them, they can last up to six months.
